IE Stage 2 software is for full bolt-on stock turbo builds running an aftermarket racing downpipe and catalyst. IE calibrators use advanced tuning strategies to extract additional power and account for the increased flow from an upgraded downpipe and performance hardware. The required hardware upgrades for stage 2 will increase airflow, exhaust flow, lower intake air temps, provide faster IAT recovery, and produce an overall more efficient and faster vehicle on the stock turbocharger. Upgrading from Stage 1 to Stage 2 or beyond is easy! With IE, you only pay the difference in tune cost with no extra fees. When you install the required matching hardware, follow the instructions on your IE POWERlink app to purchase the tune upgrade, and you will be blowing away the competition in minutes!
IE High Torque ECU calibrations maximize power gains throughout the entire powerband which quickly exceeds the torque limitations of the factory DSG calibration (auto trans) or the stock clutch (manual trans) that leads to clutch slipping. Stage 1 and Stage 2 files include optional Low Torque files for vehicles with stock DSG tune or stock clutch. Both high and low torque files are included and can be switched between as often as you like.
High Torque files require the additional purchase of a DSG transmission tune or clutch upgrade.
E85 fuel unlocks the most performance potential from our ECU tunes for your Golf R or S3 Gen 3 engine. Ethanol contains tons of oxygen, burns cooler, and has a high resistance to knock. This provides more horsepower and torque than running conventional gasoline and is more readily available (in most states) and less expensive than race gas. IE TrueFlex tunes take this a step further and allow for 91 octane all the way up to full E85 or anything in between on one tune without the need to reflash! TrueFlex is an included option with all stages (2015-2017).

To take advantage of the new larger power band, factory rev limits have been raised to 7000RPM in all stages. On DSG equipped cars, the transmission will shift slightly before the new engine RPM (6900RPM).
DSG Tune is required to unlock higher RPM.
Brake Boosting provides a competitive edge in a roll racing scenario. While maintaining a constant speed and throttle position, apply brake pressure with the left foot to build boost at speed resulting in a rolling launch when brake pressure is released.
Enabling the Exhaust Crackle feature will add a motorsport-inspired crackle sound to your exhaust note when you free-rev the engine or decelerate. This feature can be flashed on or off at will with your IE POWERlink.
For the most aggressive pops and bangs an aftermarket catback system is recommended.

IE Stage 3 GT2260S offers an easy upgrade to the bolt-on turbo with power levels delivering up to 492HP & 500TQ on pump gas! This advanced ECU calibration when combined with the Garrett turbocharger, HPFP upgrade, and stage 2 hardware (intake, intercooler, & downpipe) delivers deceivingly fast performance and exhilarating fun.
Stage 3 GT2260S TrueFlex utilizes our flex-fuel sensor and harness kit to deliver race gas power on a cost-effective ethanol blend producing a heart-pounding 490HP & 493TQ! E40 is the highest blend available within the fuel system limitations providing the maximum performance numbers without pulling power for higher E%. TrueFlex will automatically adjust between 91 octane up to E40 ethanol blend. Ethanol content must not exceed the maximum E40 blend; an ethanol content sensor kit and gauge is highly recommended.

When selecting a turbocharger for the base of our Stage 3 ECU tuning, IE engineers and calibrators valued a large powerband of increased power and reliability without adding turbo lag. After extensive research and testing, the easy bolt-in design of the German-engineered GT2260S from Garrett proves itself as the optimal balance of increased top-end power, smooth power delivery, and responsive boost with unnoticeable lag over stock. Backed by Garretts reputaiton of reliability with over 65 years in leading the proffessional motorsport, aftermarket, and factory turbo applications. When combined with IE's calibration strategies, the result is modern street manners with truly addicting race-car performance.

Installing your Garrett PowerMax GT2260S, IE Stage 3 ECU tune, and required hardware will deliver the maximum amount of power supported by the fuel system while staying well within the safe power limits of the stock engine internals. IE calibration and software engineers employed highly advanced tuning practices and equipment to develop a complete ground-up engine management system for the unique characteristics of the new boost profile and powerband. All performance calibrations and safety coding has been retained and rewritten for the substantial power gains from the larger Garrett turbocharger.
IE calibrators performed extensive mapping rework for the larger turbo. The countless testing hours of every tune iteration have gone through thousands of dyno tests, street-tested, pushed on the track and expanded to a large beta testing community. This testing process produces a massive library of data from various vehicles, fuels, climates, weather conditions, and altitudes. That data is then used to make numerous changes to the files to maximize performance, driving characteristics, and reliability. In an early beta tune track test, the results proved to produce back-to-back 10 second quarter mile runs!

IE's TrueFlex unlocks the flexibility to run full E85 down to 91 octane gas and any mix in between on a single tune without the need to reflash the ECU. IE's software engineers and calibrators have developed our own advanced TrueFlex calibration, allowing the ECU to safely adjust for ethanol content down to the exact percentage in real-time. This powerful programming brings the ease and confidence to fill up at the pump and make the most power available from your fuel choice without having to drain, verify blends, or reflash the ECU.

Factory equipped flex-fuel calibrations are designed to adjust for the cleanest emissions for different ethanol blends to get the highest MPG. This typically results in maximum timing for the lowest octane (91) across the entire range up to E85, leaving loads of untapped power on the table. IE TrueFlex is a complete performance adaptation that makes instant and continuous adjustments to performance maps such as boost and timing and releases the most available power for the fuel mix as it enters the cylinder.
Not only does IE TrueFlex allow for amazing power potential, but it also offers the most safety from ethanol blends. The ability to truly meter and adjust for ethanol content allows the tune to instantly alter the ECU maps to keep the engine in the optimal range and protect from dangerous lean conditions. This offers amazing protection from pumps that may have lower than advertised ethanol content or if no ethanol is available. The EA888 Gen 3 2.0T engine is not equipped with any type of Flex Fuel systems from the factory and lacks the ability to sense fuel content. In order for IE's TrueFlex ECU tune to work, anIE TrueFlex Sensor Harness Kit is required. This easy to install harness kit installs a sensor capable of delivering instant fuel content data to the ECU calibration.
Ethanol offers higher power output but also requires more fuel delivery than regular pump gas. The stock High Pressure Fuel Pump (HPFP) can not deliver enough fuel to support ethanol and must be upgraded. The IE HPFP Internal Upgrade Kit ensures there will be enough fuel supply for ethanol content to run reliably at all elevations and climate conditions safely.
