Cold Air Intakes are an excellent modification for any vehicle, as they bring in cooler air, instead of air that has been heat soaked by the engine. The putative principle behind a cold air intake is that cooler air has a higher density, thus containing more oxygen per volume unit than warmer air. Increased air density and reduced temperatures are accurately measured by the car's computer through the use of a highly sensitive mass airflow sensor. The computer can then add more fuel to achieve the proper air/fuel mixture resulting in a bigger, more powerful burn, creating additional power.
The location of the high flow, serviceable conical air filter is located behind the driver's front bumper skin for collection of the coolest air charge possible. Computerized mandrel bent aluminum tubing routes the cold air to the factory MAF housing where high quality silicone couplers and stainless steel hose clamps secure the tubes to their adjoining components.
The aluminum tubes are joined to the vehicle's body by means of high quality hardware and rubber isolating grommets to provide countless years of performance.
For vehicles with secondary air injection, a CNC machined adapter flange, a serviceable air filter with hose clamp and mounting hardware are included for proper system operation.
