The tail shaft of the transmission compresses and pulls up on the mounts, meaning the mount materials should be able to withstand both forces. In addition to these two forces, there are shear-twisting forces within the transmission mount assembly. Given that Polyurethane cannot withstand these forces reliably, it is not a long-term viable material for an upgrade in this location.
